Marmite & Cheese Steak
Place olive oil and onion into a fireproof pan over the fire and fry until soft, and mushrooms and wine and Marmite, stir and let simmer. Braai the steaks over hot coals for 4 mins a side until medium rare, remove and rest them for a few minutes. Add some cheese to the sauce and stir until fully melted. Mix the oil, garlic, salt, pepper and beer, and pour over the rump steaks and marinate for 1-2 hours. Clean the bay and or lemon twigs, and thread a few cubes of rump steak into each twig. Braai over hot coals for 8-10 minutes, turning consistantly until medium rare or for your liking. An easy and delicious meal for any hungry carnivores around the braai.
Cut the back of the prawns open and remove the intestinal vein, cut through the flesh to butterfly the prawns, mix the oil and garlic together and pour over the prawns, leave to marinate for one hour. Braai prawns over hot coals for 45 seconds per side, place hot chips on a platter and dish prawns onto the chips, serve with peri peri sauce and lemon wedges.
